Today’s model is Lisa who is a typical 1990s blonde Barbie with the Superstar face. I probably bought her at a market or in a cheap Barbie lot on eBay when I first started collecting. The Superstar face is not my favourite but all my early Barbies were Superstars. There are a lot of variations on this face and some of them I like more than others. I like Lisa because I think she has nice eyes and a nice expression. Or maybe I just like her because she was one of my first Barbie’s.
Lisa is wearing a favourite Fashion Avenue outfit of mine from 2000. It’s called “Film Festival”. There are so many pink Barbie outfits I don’t usually go out of my way to buy them and I don’t buy a lot of evening wear but every now and then one comes along that I really like. This is one of them.

I love the face on this doll – the sweet smile and beautiful eyes; and I remember that exquisite
fashion (I think I still have it) 🙂

It’s great to see your Barbie. There was something missing till I caught up with a copy of my first Barbie from the sixites in around 1995. She had the blond bubble haircut, pearls earrings and a sharp elegant face.

It is incredible how much Barbie has changed since her early days isn’t it? Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Even the new shoes don’t fit the old feet. Amazing.

They don’t, then there is the difference in body shape. That outfit would not fit a newer doll properly because some have bigger hips and all of them have flatter chests.
