I read these questions on Barbiebeauties who had been sent them by Barb the Evil Genius who writes “My Little Doll Corner”. “If you read this and have a doll blog, consider yourself tagged.” she said. Well I did and I have so here goes.
1. Do you collect anything other than dolls?
Not really as I don’t really have the room for any more collections. I do have a small collection of children’s books and also paper dolls but that’s really just dolls again isn’t it? There are lots of things I’d like to collect if I had the space and the money. 🙂
2. Why did you start a doll blog?
I was doing some volunteer work at a local church and one of my jobs was to maintain their blog. I knew nothing about blogging so decided to start one of my own to experiment with rather than messing up theirs. I don’t know any doll collectors locally and they say you should write about what you know so my doll blog was born.
3. Do you have one particular doll that is the favourite in your collection?
Not really because I collect several different types of dolls. I love my childhood dolls and my Pedigree Walker because I waited a long time to get her. I have favourites amongst my Barbies too but not one doll over all the others.
4. Your favourite doll accessory?
I have a few props, chairs, a pram, a child’s tricycle but I think my most useful accessory is probably the Barbie sized dolls house my husband bought me for Christmas a few years ago. My Tammy family and Tressy’s live there but it is also the backdrop for a lot of photos.
5. Do you know exactly how many dolls you have in your collection?
I have absolutely no idea. I couldn’t even tell you how many Barbies there are let alone all the other types of dolls. Lots.
6. Do you play any instruments and if so, what?
No, one of my regrets.
7. Where is your most favourite place you’ve ever been?
It’s hard to choose but it would have to be between Tasmania where I live now and Scotland.
8. Where would you most like to visit, that you’ve never visited?
New Zealand and I will be visiting there next year.
9. Is there a retired doll or doll line that you’d like to bring back?
Fashion Fever Barbies. I really liked them.
10. If you could design your own doll, what would it look like?
I would design a male fashion doll who had articulated limbs, rooted hair which was long enough to re-style and came with a variety of hair and eye colours and skin tones. He would have a more approachable expression than the FR guys who always look a bit smug to me but not look as vacant as Ken. He would also have a wardrobe of outfits for all occasions and none of it would be pink.
So there you are. I only know a few doll bloggers myself so I won’t tag anyone specifically. I think a lot of us know the same people but if you haven’t been tagged in this before and would like to play please do. Leave me a link in comments so I can see your answers too please.
