Fashion Fever Closets – Part Eleven – The Purple Lollipop Closet

Here is another in my series of posts about Fashion Fever Closets.
I don’t know what this one is called. I call it the Purple Lollipop Closet. It has some quite versatile pieces in it and I like the bright colours.

The Model:

Marissa – Fashionista Raquelle

I wasn’t too sure about Marissa when I first got her as I thought she looked a bit cheap.I did like her colouring however and once I had changed her clothes I started to like her better. Even though I find the articulated Fashionista’s rather fragile and not as well made as the Fashion Fever dolls she has really started to grow on me. Here is Marissa in her original outfit.

Over the past year I’ve had Marissa at home with me and I’ve used her on the blog many times. I thought that she would be the ideal model for the Lollipop closet as it suits her youthful look.

Here she is in the outfits from the Lollipop Closet.

Marissa wears a "leather" jacket over a T-shirt and the skirt. The high boots go well with this.

I started writing this post in September last year but discovered that I had put the purple pants and the blue and purple jumper into a different bag and they were not with me. I thought, “Never mind I’ll get them next time I visit my sister.” I knew that would be a few weeks because she had a houseguest. I didn’t expect it would be this long.  More than a year later I still haven’t photographed that outfit.

Until today! The guitar is not part of the closet but was in a box with some props and Marissa wanted to pose with it. I don’t have a tiny Barbie size plectrum for her.

So there, finally, after a year is the Purple Lollipop Closet.

  1. I never saw this closet in stores, it sure has some nice clothes to mix and match. I miss these closets and the big variety of mix and match they offered. I love the jacket and the swirly patterned dress.

It’s the tacky dress, that made this Raquelle look a little cheap in the box. I got her for face. She is a lovely doll, once she is redressed. You did some very fine knitting in making that white set.

    • I miss those closets too. Most had a lot of pieces and were great value for money. You are right about Raquelle’s dress too. It is what put me off the doll initially but as Marissa she has become a favourite because she does have a lively expression and is great fun to redress.
