Midge’s best friend Jan loves fashion so when some classic Barbie dresses were delivered to the Tammy House she just had to try them on.

Sophisticated Lady is a genuine vintage outfit. The little pearl buttons are fiddly to do up. I was worried that the cotton loops might break so Jan won’t be getting her hands on this dress again now vintage Barbie has got it. She does look beautiful in it though.

Solo in the Spotlight is a reproduction outfit and came with my 1959 Reproduction Barbie. I’ve had it several years but the doll was only recently removed from the box. Jan loves this dress and the pearls that go with it. She would liked to have worn them as a choker but to do that I’d have had to take her head off.

The owners of the dresses were not at all happy when they found that Jan had tried their dresses on before they had a chance to wear them themselves. Jan might have to watch out.
