Midge is feeling very nervous as she has agreed to meet one of the guys from the “Soul Mates” website for coffee.

She has a new outfit which Marissa insisted she wore because “the dress shows off your figure.” but she’s worried she may be over dressed for the occasion.

She’s also a bit anxious about meeting a man who only knows her from the internet but Michael sounded nice enough on the phone so after initially being annoyed with Marissa for signing her up to the site and posting a lot of nonsense about her interests Midge decides she might as well meet the guys. She hopes that the subject of belly dancing won’t come up.
Midge arrives early and nervously waits at the cafe where she is to meet Michael.

Luckily she doesn’t have to wait long. Michael is on time and he looks very nice.

However he has a surprise for Midge.

“I’d like you to meet my mother.”
Midge was not expecting that.

“He brought his MOTHER!”
Marissa who dropped by later to hear how things went couldn’t believe it. “Who does that? He must be a mummy’s boy.”
“No, he explained.” Midge tells her. “He was dropping her off to go shopping. She didn’t stay and Michael and I had a nice chat. I liked him.”

Marissa is not so sure. She thinks Michael might be a mummy’s boy but she’s glad that Midge liked him just the same.
“That will make it easier to get her to go on the next date.” she thinks.

I love all your doll stories. I get totally invested in them and can’t wait to hear the next chapter 🙂

Thanks I just got the idea for that one today while I was looking for some dolls to photograph and suddenly saw Happy Families Grandma in a drawer.

Looking forward to more dates for Midge. Like Marissa, I’m not sure what to make of Michael’s actions. Will be interesting to see how her suiters stack up.

I’ve got a couple of ideas for the next dates. Of course the path of true love never runs smoothly.

He brought his mother. Marisa’s words were exactly my first thought. Midge’s dress looks cute and not at all overdressed. I’m also looking forward to the next dates.

Midge is more trusting and willing to accept Michael’s explanation that he was just dropping his mother off. Of course she was not checking Midge out. I made her outfit. I took the pattern for a top and lengthened it into a mini dress. Maybe I’ll make her a new one for the next date.
