In the shop where we bought Shirley Temple I bought this small hard plastic doll for $8. She is about eight inches or 20 cm tall with a softer plastic head, rooted blonde hair and painted blue eyes.

I am not sure how old she is but on her back she is marked made in Japan. She has the figure of a teen doll so I’m going to guess that she was made in the late fifties or early sixties.
She her arms and legs are jointed and she has painted on flat shoes. The paint is coming off one shoe and the poor girl is missing a couple of fingers but otherwise apart from being grubby she does not look too bad.

That is about all I know. I think she is probably a mass-produced doll and I doubt I’ll be able to find out much about her but I just rather liked her expression. Naturally if anyone recognises her I would love to know more. I have cleaned her up a bit and given her something from my cast off box to wear until I make her a proper outfit. Here she is redressed.
