The Tammy family are all away for the holidays visiting their out-of-town relations. Somehow College Tammy persuaded Mom and Dad to allow Midge and Marissa to mind the house while they were gone.
Of course Marissa thinks that this would be a great opportunity to throw a party and quickly invites their friends over for a New Year’s Eve party.
Midge is not sure that this is such a great idea but as usual she gets caught up in the wave of Marissa’s enthusiasm.
Before the Party

In the top bedroom Midge, Marissa and a couple of friends are getting ready for the party. As usual Marissa is trying to talk Midge into wearing “something sexy”.
“I have invited Clark for you.” She tells a startled Midge.
“But I invited Michael!” she says.
Marissa is not impressed. “Michael is a loser. It’s time to move on.”
Midge disagrees. “Michael is a nice man with an annoying mother. ”
“Oh well. If that’s the way you feel.” Marissa sighs. “Clark probably won’t come anyway. “He is so shy.”
In the kitchen Marissa’s boyfriend Pete has been recruited to help with the drinks. Unfortunately Pete is a bit of a klutz.

He comes upstairs to tell Marissa he’s had a bit of an accident with the drinks.

“Go help him Midge; you are the only one who’s ready.” Marissa orders
“I’m not ready. I was going to change out of this outfit.” grumbles Midge but she goes to help Pete anyway. Marissa decides that she had better hurry and finish dressing. Pete obviously thinks Midge looks pretty good.

However it appears that Marissa has nothing to worry about.

At the party
A little later in the living room the guests have started to arrive.
“Who is that old lady?” Brittany asks
“Oh I think that is Michael’s mother.” Replies Miranda
Yes, Michael has brought his mother to the party!

After sorting out the mess in the kitchen Midge goes up to change her clothes. In the bedroom she runs into Mother who takes the opportunity to express her feelings about Midge’s outfit, her friends and the state of the bedroom.
Midge is upset but then tells Mother, as politely as possible that her opinions are not welcome. She changes her clothes and goes downstairs to find that in the absence of Mother Michael is getting acquainted with some of the other guests.

She decides to go and check on things in the kitchen and is surprised to find Clark there.
“Marissa sent me. She said something about watermelon punch and that you would know.”
“No watermelon punch this year.” Midge tells him. I’ve had quite enough excitement already.”

Happy New Year from all the gang at the Tammy House.

Marissa succeeded in throwing a cool new year’s eve party and Midge managed to keep her clothes on! I’m so happy to see my two favorite characters along with others. Michael looks like a loser so I hope Midge has better luck with Clark, who seems shy like her. Thanks for sharing your love of dolls with us. Looking forward to another fantastic year.

I had been wondering how to get Midge and Clark together but whether he’ll be a stayer I don’t yet know.

Seems like Michael is too close with his mum an flirting with other girls as well. Melissa is right, Midge should give Clark a chance. I guess Midge will never forget the watermelon punch.
