Vanda has asked me to join her blog so here is just a little bit about myself. I was born in Romford, Essex which is part of Greater London in 1959. Mum, Vanda and I sailed to Australia on Sitmar Line’s Castel Felice. I look back on that as one of the most exciting times of my life. I gained my love of ships from this voyage and started one of my first collections. I began collecting shipping memorabilia and then postcards, spoons, antiques, vintage toys, dolls and teddy bears. I found I was unable to stick to just one thing so my home became home to several collections. One friend of a former boyfriend was completely stunned when he came to visit one day and saw among my retro possessions a black and white PYE television set. He said my house was like the movie Back to the Future. I don’t know what he would say now because I have heaps more stuff.  Some say I should charge admission fees.  Vanda and I share many interests with each other and one of them is our enjoyment of dolls and doll related items. She has already shown you my collection of vintage doll house furniture and also my paper dolls. I have many other items I hope to share with you over time that I hope you will all enjoy seeing. There are my other doll houses, prams, Kens and friends, cradles and heaps of other really nice stuff. A lot of my stuff has been packed up ready for when the time comes for moving but I will see what I can lay my hands on over Easter for an interesting post.
