December is Here

I can’t believe that December is here again so soon. It’s the start of the holiday season, some of you have been celebrating Thanksgiving and soon many of us will be celebrating Christmas or perhaps Hanukkah, St Nicholas’ Day or Kwanzaa depending on where you live and what your family tradition is.

Will you be dressing up your dolls or making a special display with them? I would love to but with the house on the market again I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do much this year. We’ll have to at least try for a Christmas party in the Tammy house.

Waiting for Christmas.

Naomi was visiting me earlier today, she’s driving home as I write this, and we were talking about this blog and how nice it is when people appreciate our more offbeat photos and humour and how good it would be to see some of our readers’ photos as not all of you have doll blogs.

Anyway, we thought that it would be fun to set up a Gallery page where we can share readers photos over the month of December so if you are setting up a diorama or display or maybe dressing some favourite dolls in seasonal outfits we’d love it if you would send us some pictures. I thought that we would keep them up from now until 6 January and that after that if the idea is popular we could convert the page to a regular Readers Gallery to share readers photos all year round.

If any of you like the idea and would like to join in, and we hope you will, you can send your photos to me at sadieinoz.1957@gmail.com. You don’t have to have a fancy camera, any point and shoot or even taking photos with your phone is fine.

Here is a taster of an upcoming post from Naomi.

  1. What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much for doing this. I’m hoping to have a Hanukkah diorama set up tomorrow. I’ll reblog on my DirksDolls so if anyone follows me who doesn’t follow you, they’ll discover your blog and be able to participate.

  2. I would love to see other people’s doll pictures and their ideas for displaying them. It would be a lot of fun to see what we all do with them.
