Monster High -Great Scarrier Reef Peri and Pearl Serpentine Monster High -Great Scarrier Reef Peri and Pearl Serpentine Monster High -Great Scarrier Reef Peri and Pearl Serpentine
Today’s Friday girl or perhaps I should say girls are Monster High Peri and Pearl Serpentine. These two turned up at the Op Shop and were in pretty good condition. Only the gold belt seems to be missing from their accessories. They are part of a batch of dolls I’m working on currently which I will try to show you over the next week or so.
I’ve seen some mini fashion dolls that are really amazing — and expensive. I got interested in collecting them but the price was way out of my range.

This ghoulish line seems more popular with kids than Barbie these days. I’m not a huge fan of them as I don’t really like big heads and skinny limbs. I brought these home to clean up and fix their hair then they will go back to the Op Shop but they are actually quite nice to work with as they have nice, silky hair. I have to admit these are pretty unusual even if not my cup of tea.

I find the two heads a bit creepy, but I do love that blue hair. I only have a couple of Monster High dolls – I had to draw the line somewhere or my house would be overrun with dolls! – but I do like their faces and hair. Their bodies always seem a bit fragile to me and I’m not really a fan of oversize heads either. Still, the Monster High dolls do have a certain charm.

Yes they do although I agree with you that they seem very fragile especially for their intended age group.

I have to say I don’t like them at all not that I am really into pretty girly looking dolls either. I just want to see something normal in the shops for once. Most dolls I saw in toy departments for kids this year were very plain looking or horrible like these dolls. Not a fan but respect those who do like and collect them.

Maybe two heads are better than one, but I haven’t salvaged this one from the secondary market yet. I do have some of the other ones but the clothing is easy to loose and expensive to replace. I am more into good face molds or interesting hair. (Also if I can’t find a boy to fill out the collection I might loose interest as I like their accessories.)They pose well enough to photograph and even my grandsons thought they were funny/fun enough to have karate’ adventures.

I’m sure one will turn up after Christmas when people often have house clean outs, well they do here anyway. I did manage to work out how to arrange the tail to get her/them to stand up but I haven’t checked to see if the glow in the dark feature works yet.

I might consider these as they are mermaid-esque, I have Ariel and other mermaids in a bathroom, they might be a fun addition. They have that other world look.

I wonder if these dolls are Tasmanian. It is rumoured that Tasmanians once had two heads and one was cut off. I’ll leave Vanda to explain that one.

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring that up.
