Sunday at the Dreamhouse


Time for one last look at Barbie during her birthday celebrations. Here she is relaxing at home in the Dreamhouse. However, Skipper and Tutti have other ideas. “You and Midge promised to take us to the Mall today Barbie. Can we go? Please!”

 

Tutti asks Barbie.

Barbie agrees at once. “Of course we will take you. Ken will drive us, won’t you Ken?”

Ken is such a gentelman.

“Umm, well actually I promised to play ball with Todd and Ricky this afternoon. You girls go and have fun.”

I promised to play ball with the boys.
Midge and little sister Skooter.
Skipper and Skooter are ready to go.
You girls go.

So Barbie, Midge, Skipper, Skooter and Tutti  go off for some retail therapy while Ken and the boys stay home and play outside. Who do you suppose had the most fun?

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

  1. Are you kidding? Who would have more fun just staying home bouncing a ball? Naturally the girls had the most fun. The house looks so cute!

  4. Looks like fun! They might have fancied a shopping trip to a outdoor/ sports or recreation store w/ camping and fishing. Allan and Ken and the boys seem like fishing might be fun, or shooting at an indoor range. Everyone could go horseback riding too.

  5. Oooh I loved seeing all the vintage dolls and fashions in their dreamhouse. I may be biased but i agree the ladies had more fun getting dressed up and leaving the house to shop.
