Here is a post from December four years ago which I thought you might like to see again. with a few extra photos added.
December is the start of summer in Australia so here are some of the girls ready for the beach.
Kate and Mandy have recently arrived from England so Kate is being sun smart and has “slip, slop, slapped”. Mandy did remember to bring a cover up.
Anna is wearing her pearls to the beach. “No problem.” she says, “Pearls come from oysters and oysters live in the sea. They will be fine.”
Bonnie is the practical one who will remind the others to swim between the flags and look out for beach nasties such as the blue ringed octopus and to re-apply their sunscreen.

Midge loves swimming and enjoyed this visit to Bellerive Beach.

Mel favours a one piece outfit.

Kirsty models a wet look bikini made from balloons.

What fun outfits. 🙂

I’m feeling a little summer envy, as it is cold, wet and stormy here, just a tiny bit. Anna’s Bikini looks great, I like that style.

If I were a bikini wearer that’s probably what I’d choose too or Bonnie’s one piece would probably be more my style although these days I’d probably want a little skirt on it too. 🙂

Knitted bathers look very uncomfortable. They would feel quite icky.

I agree, remember how popular they were in the 70s? Those crochet bikinis which were surely not designed to get wet.

I’d go w/ old style bathing costumes w/ tights ,just kidding, do fashion dolls do tankinis? it’s a bit nippy yet for the beach here unless you are wearing a wetsuit. Great pics though .

Lovely post! I am crazy about that bob haircut on the blonde in the bright pink/red one-piece suit! Bonnie? I really enjoy your set-ups 🙂

Thanks Melanie , Bonnie wears a wig which I bought as the original doll was a second hand fine and had pretty bad hair. I thought the style was nice too. It’s a Monique wig, size 4. I’ve forgotten the name of the style.
