Fashion Doll Friday: Hunger Games Mockingjay Peeta 2015


First of all, my apologies for the late posting today. I just bought a new computer and I spent part of today dragging my desk upstairs and then setting up the computer. I have a new “office” on the upstairs landing. Let’s hope it works out.

Anyway, today’s Friday Guy is Peeta from the Hunger Games Mockingjay which I think was the second movie. I don’t know a lot about this franchise and tend to confuse it with Divergent/ Insurgent. What I do know is they made some rather handsome guys and I have to say this one is my favourite for looks. I got him for Naomi along with his Hunger Games buddy a couple of years ago. She bought me two of my “Look” girls at around the same time. Amazing how we think alike when one of us sees something the other would like. Anyway the guys stayed boxed till a couple of weeks ago when Naomi decided it was time they came out. As you can see Maverick, the name he now goes by, has not even changed out of his uniform yet. He is on an articulated body and his facial sculpt is unique to him as far as I know.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

  3. Maverick is very handsome, and I love his hair-do. 🙂 I like these dolls too, I have Four from Divergent and he is very similar to your guy, with real hair and very pose-able. My plan is to add the Hunger Games guys to my collection one day as well. Good luck with your computer and new office area!

  4. They certainly look better w/ their gear.I have Peeta and Finnick but Peeta was only a head I rebodied/redressed. I have Effe the female Mentor, but she was only a head as well. Would love to get Katniss but keep loosing auctions,might have to start buying heads again and custom them into affordability. Hope the new blog spot/office works.Look forward to more..sam Bat station..Best to you and furries,best to Naomi Too.

  6. I know virtually nothing about the Divergent/Insurgent and Hunger Games movies, but they produced wonderful dolls. Maverick (so much better than Peeta!) looks awesome in that black outfit.
