I’m going a bit off topic today to show you a game from Naomi’s collection of vintage games. It is called What Shall I Wear? and is intended as a fashion game for girls. This game was published by a company called Selchow & Righter which I am not familiar with. The release date was 1969.

The goal of the game is to be the first player to be dressed for two invitations. We haven’t played it yet but it looks as if all the pieces are there. The graphics on the board are very nice.

Here are all the pieces for the game except the dice which I forgot to include. The illustrated cards show the outfits that must be made up.

Naomi and I both enjoyed “I Wish I Were” as kids. Well, to be honest, I’d still enjoy playing it. This game doesn’t have paper dolls like that but it is along similar lines. Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed taking a peek at this vintage game.

What a cool game! I never heard of this game before. It’s a treasure. I also checked your post on the I Wish I Were game and that is even more fabulous. Love all those paper dolls, and I had a giggle over the doll that lost her dress. Too funny!

We can laugh about it now but it was pretty annoying at the time.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve been slowly (very slowly) working on my own fashion type board/card game and i love seeing other fashion type games to see how they are designed.

That sounds really interesting. Have you checked out I Wish I Were, as well?
