Our Friday guy this week belongs to Naomi. I had photographed him some time ago but when I went to ID him he’d disappeared into a box and only reappeared recently. I had originally thought that he was a Takara doll but I wanted to take another look at him before posting about him.
Since my recent reading about Bandai and MaBa dolls. I thought that he might be one of those. He is marked “Mattel” and “Made in Korea”. He is bigger than the Takara dolls but the same size as Ma Ba Barbie.
Always nice to see different types of Ken dolls. Love his bright top!

It’s so interesting the way dolls reflect the culture of the country in which they’re created.

He has such a young innocent look, more teenage boy than grown up. I also love his groovy top.

I think the Takara , Bandai and MaBa dolls all look very childlike compared to Barbie and Ken as we know them.
