Merry Christmas


Christmas Day is nearly over here in Australia. It’s 9:40 pm Eastern Standard Time and it has just got dark. For many of you Christmas Day is still in full swing or maybe hasn’t even begun yet. I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a happy and peaceful day whether you celebrate the holiday or not.

Naomi and I had a quiet Christmas Day at home which suited us. We went out to the local Christmas Parade on Christmas Eve and found it very noisy, lots of prime movers honking and tooting and not a lot of Christmas music. So we were happy to stay at home and relax.

There were no new dolls under the tree this year but that was OK because I have more than enough dolls to play with at the moment and not a lot on my dolly wish list.

Anyway, both Naomi and I hope that you all have a lovely day wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

I was born in England in 1957 and lived there until our family came to Australia in 1966. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where I met and married my husband, David. We came together over a mutual love of trains. Both of us worked for the railways for many years, his job was with Australian National Railways, while I spent 12 years working for the STA, later TransAdelaide the Adelaide city transit system. After leaving that job I worked in hospitality until 2008. We moved to Tasmania in 2002 to live in the beautiful Huon Valley. In 2015 David became ill and passed away in October of that year. I currently co-write two blogs on WordPress.com with my sister Naomi. Our doll blog "Dolls, Dolls, Dolls", and "Our Other Blog" which is about everything else but with a focus on photographs and places in Tasmania. In November 2019 I began a new life in the house that Naomi and I intend to make our retirement home at Sisters Beach in Tasmania's northwest. Currently we have five pets between us. Naomi's two dogs Toby and Teddy and cats, Tigerwoods and Panther and my cat Polly. My dog Cindy passed away aged 16 in April 2022.

    My Christmas celebration with my sister is postponed due to bad weather & bad driving conditions so it is a relaxing day at home for me, too.

  3. Merry Christmas to you, Naomi and all the readers of the blog. I hope you have all had a wonderful time. I got four dolls under the tree. My sister got me a Stacie doll and some Pippa doll clothes. My son got me dance studio Sindy, Music Store Sindy and Cutie Reveal Barbie, the pink bunny. Jen joy did a good post on cutie reveal Barbie which helped my choice. She will be good to do an Easter post with.I hope you all stay safe if you have bad weather and wish you all a happy New Year.

    • Thanks Angie and Merry Christmas. Isn’t it great when you have family who knows what you like? I have seen some of the Sindy playline on special at Superstar Dolls in Sydney and am considering whether to buy one. I could get Toy Vlogger Sindy for under $40 including postage.
      The weather here has been very nice. Warm but not too hot and sunny. We put the air-con on in the late afternoon for a couple of hours but that’s all we’ve needed.
