Candi & Charice
This page features my small collection of fashion dolls made by Hamilton Design, Integrity and Mikelman. I’ve never seen these dolls for sale in stores in Australia so all of mine were bought online. The first ones I bought were Charice dolls from the Fabulous Fur Collection from Paul David’s website. At that time, the late 1990s, several different Charice dolls were available on the site along with Charice’s boyfriend Dominic. The dolls were designed by MiKelman.

I didn’t know anything about the dolls at the time and it was only later that I discovered Charice’s predecessor Candi. Candi, originally called Candy was the creation of Helena Hamilton. You can read a short early history of Candi here. Later on Helena Hamilton met Paul David who was selling fashion dolls by mail order and this led to a collaboration with his business partner MiKelman who subsequently designed the faces and hair styles of the later Candi dolls.

After the partnership with Hamilton Designs ended MiKelman went on to design the Charice dolls. Like the Candi dolls the range included Asian, African American and Hispanic dolls as well as Caucasian ones.

Integrity Dolls
Integrity dolls is now famous for making fabulous fashion dolls such as the Fashion Royalty and Poppy Parker series to mention a couple.
I do have a couple of older Integrity dolls, I don’t know a great deal about the history of the company but I believe Integrity Toys was started around 1995. My dolls are from the late 90s or early 2000s. I hope to add some more information and photos to this page soon.

Poppy Parker
The Fashion Royalty dolls are usually very expensive and they are not sold in the stores here so while I admire their range of male and female fashion dolls so far I’ve only been able to acquire two Poppy Parkers on the secondary market.

He wrote two or three of those books, they are soft cover and probably would not cost much for a used copy.

Charice dolls are awesome. I have a Retro Charice in a zebra striped swimsuit, and am looking online to buy more Candi dolls. They remind me of the old Superstar Barbies with the twist waist. Love Retro Charice’s arm sculpting. The retro Barbie like keepsake box is divine.

Yes I remember that one. I was able to get them from Mikelman directly when I was first on the internet in the late 90s and I was sorry when they stopped making them. I do think that the earlier Candi dolls have a nicer expression though.

Years ago I acquired about 8 Candi, Charice, Dominic dolls at a local Good will here in Ohio. I thought they were very unique and since they were cheap I scooped them up. I just love them. I met Paul David and Mikelman a few times over the years when they had doll stores in Chillcothe Ohio. Both of them are very nice men

You were lucky to find them. They are probably very collectible now as they were only made for a few years.
